OpenAI has just launched its latest version of the artificial intelligence system, GPT-4.5, as an update to the previous version, GPT-3.5, which was introduced in 2022.

GPT-4.5 promises major advancements in how AI responds to written commands from users, whether in conversation, writing, or coding, making it one of the most sophisticated AI models ever created.

In its official announcement, OpenAI described GPT-4.5 as a version that can respond to subtle cues from users with greater accuracy and naturalness. “GPT-4.5 represents a huge leap in the capabilities of this model compared to the previous version,” said Nick Ryder, Vice President of Research at OpenAI.

This model is expected to produce fewer errors or irrelevant information, a common issue in earlier models.

GPT-4.5 also introduces several significant new features. The model can now accept image inputs, generate SVG images directly, and create images using DALL.E, one of OpenAI’s image generation technologies.

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman referred to GPT-4.5 as a “giant” and “expensive” model, but one that offers a deeper interactive experience, almost like conversing with a thoughtful person. “This model truly feels like talking to someone who is deeply insightful,” Altman added.

Moreover, GPT-4.5 supports a variety of file types and formats, making it more versatile for both creative and technical applications.

However, despite continuing innovation, OpenAI now faces strong competition in the artificial intelligence industry. As a result, GPT-4.5 is expected to help maintain OpenAI’s leadership in the rapidly growing field of AI technology.

Currently, GPT-4.5 is available only to ChatGPT Pro subscribers, with a subscription fee of $200 per month. For OpenAI, this launch marks a strategic step in offering a more advanced AI to users while reaffirming its ambition to lead in the world of artificial intelligence.
