Ananda Temple Overview
The Ananda Temple, located in Bagan, Myanmar, is one of the most iconic and well-preserved temples in the ancient city of Bagan. Built in the 11th century by King Kyansittha, it stands as a symbol of the grandeur and devotion of the Bagan dynasty. Known for its architectural elegance, Ananda Temple features a unique blend of Mon, Indian, and Burmese styles. It houses four large standing Buddha statues, each representing a different direction, and numerous smaller Buddha figures inside its vast halls. The temple’s gilded spire and its brilliant brickwork make it a breathtaking sight, attracting visitors from all over the world.
