The Handbook was initially written by the author Caroline Palmbergen to have a comprehensive reference work for herself during the Master Companion Animals as well as for her work in the Companion Animal Practice. As you may experience yourself, a very large amount of knowledge must be acquired during the study of Veterinary Medicine and it can sometimes be difficult to maintain an overview. This Handbook has succeeded in bringing back this overview in an accessible way and also in bundling a great deal of information about almost all conditions of dogs and cats, as treated during the study. After other students heard about the Handbook by chance, it quickly became a hot topic among the students and shortly afterwards the book was officially published and made available to all Veterinary Medicine students and veterinarians in the Netherlands.
