The history of Bom Jesus began with the visionary Luiz Vigolo, in the lands of Medianeira, in Paraná, in the early 1960s, producing the first crops of corn, beans, rice and wheat, in addition to raising pigs. Luiz Vigolo remained in Paraná until 1976, when he bought 483 hectares in Mato Grosso and began planting rice. The name Bom Jesus was born from the new lands. In 1987, Luiz founded Bom Jesus Sementes with his sons Nelson and Geraldo. In 2003, with the founding of Bom Jesus Transportes, the company became a leader in agribusiness logistics. To consolidate its commercial activities, the Group established Bom Jesus Agropecuária in 2007. In 2012, the Group opened other units, consolidating its expansion: ABJ Comércio (On Shore) and ABJ Trading (Off Shore), responsible for the commercialization of commodities and inputs in the national and international markets. In 2013, it acquired Posto Transamérica and divided the business into three units: agricultural, commercial and logistics. The Bom Jesus Group currently operates in the areas of transportation, commercialization of grains and inputs (fertilizers, pesticides and seeds), livestock, pig farming and fuel retail. These activities are located in the states of Mato Grosso, Bahia and Piauí.
