After working as a publisher for twenty years, I know all the tricks of the publishing trade. I published more than five hundred management books, including many bestsellers such as the books by Jos Burgers (including De Wet van Snuf, Klanten zijn eigen nog mensen and Geef nooit korting) and Het innovatiedoolhof by Gijs van Wulfen (Management book of the year 2017). When I was a publisher, I discovered that many authors did not think carefully about what was involved in publishing a book. The focus was often on the end result, while many choices were made on the way there. For example, many authors start writing without a well-defined plan. And marketing is only considered when the book is published. That is why I offer authors services in every phase of the publishing process: from book idea to marketing.
The Handbook was initially written by the author Caroline Palmbergen to have a comprehensive reference work for herself during the Master Companion Animals as well as for her work in the Companion Animal Practice. As you may experience yourself, a very large amount of knowledge must be acquired during the study of Veterinary Medicine and it can sometimes be difficult to maintain an overview. This Handbook has succeeded in bringing back this overview in an accessible way and also in bundling a great deal of information about almost all conditions of dogs and cats, as treated during the study. After other students heard about the Handbook by chance, it quickly became a hot topic among the students and shortly afterwards the book was officially published and made available to all Veterinary Medicine students and veterinarians in the Netherlands.

In 2007, the Orthodox Logos Foundation, in addition to the internet bookstore, started a publishing house, with the aim of making the written heritage of the (Eastern) Orthodox Church accessible to a wide audience in the West, and in particular in the Dutch language area. Publishing House Orthodox Logos tries to make Eastern Orthodoxy better known in the West and does so “from within”, by means of the publication and re-publication of works translated into Dutch from the libraries of Orthodoxy (and also in other languages), or the re-publication and re-publication of original and new, contemporary works in Greek, Russian, Romanian… Many people in the West hardly know, or only indirectly, what is meant by “Orthodoxy” (also called Eastern Orthodox Christianity) and the Churches that are connected to it, their way of thinking and lifestyle, liturgical celebrations, Bible reading and father studies, etc. Publishing House Orthodox Logos strives to reach a new audience interested in this tradition – young and old, well-read and unread, educated and uneducated.
